The New Tropicana Casino Hotel renovation is being spearheaded by co-owner and CEO Alex Yemenidijian, who is a former executive at MGM Grand, Inc. On July 1,2009 he acquired the historic Tropicana Hotel and Casino. Yemenidijian and his partners are planning to spend over $100 million on The New Tropicana Casino Hotel renovation. On August 6, 2009 a new "Tropicana Las Vegas" logo was unveiled and it is just the beginning of bigger and better things for the historic hotel and casino. On August 24, 2009 construction began on a new employee lounge, employee dining room and house offices and common areas. This part of The New Tropicana Casino Hotel renovation will be completed before the end of this year. The next thing to be renovated is the convention center and exhibition center. The construction on this area is expected to be wrapped up by next spring, if everything goes according to plan. The dining facilities will be the next project in line for The New Tropicana Casino Hotel renovation. Yemenidijian expects to make many cosmetic changes in the casino, and says that the updates will be a welcome change for the casino.
The New Tropicana Casino Hotel renovation will take time and patience, but many believe it will be well worth the effort to bring this piece of Las Vegas history back to life. The New Tropicana Casino Hotel renovation will hopefully attract plenty of people in Las Vegas for a fun filled vacation.
