At first I remember thinking, “man this place looks a little “dated”, but once you get closer, you will see why it has a unique, lasting impression on the Las Vegas strip.
In the past, most older hotels were simply demolished altogether in order to make space for bigger, better casinos.
The Flamingo Hotel Las Vegas has many reasons to stay on the strip, especially as it becomes more of a legend as each year progresses!
So walking towards the Flamingo Hotel Las Vegas, we suddenly began to hear the ever-familiar tunes of Jimmy Buffett.
The Flamingo Hotel Las Vegas is extremely hard to miss as its pinkish-colored glassy exterior is right there in front of Caesars Palace demanding your attention.
Many folks we have gone to Vegas with would say “no this place is old, lets go to another one”. I have to say that it does have history but is such a fun, unique experience it is always a stop for us on our walks along the strip.
The first impression of the entire Flamingo Hotel Las Vegas for us was that of an adventure to find out what the buffet another server at a different casino was talking about that was SO good!
We had always enjoyed walking through it and playing some tables or slots in the casino as it always provides a nice air-conditioned retreat from the heat on the strip. But, this time we wanted to see what all the rumors were all about. So, we walked down to the Flamingo Hotel Las Vegas, and ended up in a tropical paradise! Literally.
Somehow we ended up in a zoo-like area where there were exotic animals and a whole flock of flamingos!
If you like the charm of styles from the past, yet very modernized, you should check out the Flamingo Hotel Las Vegas at least for the whole garden they have back there.
Next we stepped through and tried out their buffet. This was seriously a great buffet!
There was a lot of good quality food versus that of a “big” decorated/modern environment with only so-so food.
The décor was not as “modern” as most of the newer casinos but the buffet was SO worth it! We even ran into the guy who is the comedy act in there and he said HE even eats there regularly!
All in all, the Flamingo Hotel Las Vegas is such a fun place to grab a margarita at Margaritaville, or a beer at Bugsy’s in the casino, but also a very tropical experience overall!
